Intercultural skills

Having spent several months each in France, Ireland and Russia and three months each in Australia and England, I am acutely aware not only of the linguistic difference, but also of the cultural differences that can affect communication between people with different roots. The experiences I gained are reflected in my translations and interpreting work. Things that are customary in one country may be inacceptable in another. Benefit from my experience and make sure, that your contents is adapted to its audience in more ways than just linguistically.

But that is not all. Life-long learning is more than a fashionable buzzword for interpreters. In order to be able to adapt to different trains of thought and different disciplines, I am passionate about continuously educating myself.

Membership in a professional association

With my memberships in the German Conference Interpreter’s Association (Verband der Konferenzdolmetscher (VKD) im BDÜ e.V.) and the German Association of Freelance Interpreters and Translators (Deutscher Verband der freien Übersetzer und Dolmetscher e.V.), I very consciously committed to high standards of quality. Among other things, these include diligent professionalism and treating all information confidentially.
